Deadline Today - Register to Vote in August 26 Primary

Floridians have until the end of the day to register to vote in the Aug. 26 election.The late summer contest will decide future judges and school board members, as well as serve as the primary election for congressional races.Voters in 15 counties — including Miami-Dade, Broward, Hillsborough and Pinellas — will for the first time use optical scan machines. Touch-screen voting machines have been phased out following concerns about their reliability and lack of a paper trail.Eligible voters can register Monday at county election offices or by mailing in an application.
