RPOF Chairman Jim Greer attended our meeting and discussed his views on the McCain Campaign and what the RPOF needs to do beyoned the 2008 elections. In addition, Ryan Houck of Floridians for Smarter Growth discussed "Hometown Democracy" and why this potential ballot amendment in 2010 is not a good step for Florida.

I really enjoyed listening to Greer. One thing that stood out to me was his position on targeting the minority vote. Minorities are an important part of the American political climate. The way to reach minorities is through emphasizing the family and (often) religious/moral values that many minority voters share with the Republican party. This can be done through grassroot efforts...

Agreed. The time has come for all U.S. citizens to take a good look at the GOP. It is unfortunate that the Democrats have such a stronghold on the African-American vote. The GOP has always stood for and still does stand for opportunity to all. We are making progress.
